Jumana was born in Syria and was raised between there and Bulgaria. At age 12 she moved to the States, and later attended Parsons School of Design earning her BFA in Photography. In her free time she enjoys getting lunch, meeting with friends, ceramics, and working on personal projects.
FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH PHOTOGRAPHY: Her first encounter with photography was at age 10 when her step dad gifted her her first Canon digital camera in Bulgaria, where she photographed her family and her encounters. After moving to the States, she took photography darkroom classes in high school which sparked her interest in photography further, eventually leading her to pursue a degree in it.
GUILTY PLEASURES WHILE RETOUCHING: Haphazardly watching Sex and the City, hoarding various cups on my desk, and annoying production with questions.
